ITT Exelis will provide satellite communications support services to military communications centers and management sites worldwide under the $121 million Wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Operations and Technical Support (WSOTS) contract. The deal was finalized by the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command and the Army Forces Strategic Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. The terms include 6, one-year option periods.
As a provider of surveillance, intelligence and reconnaissance services, Exelis has the right technology to support large networks intended for military satellite
communications. The contract has fixed fees and also covers operations and maintenance services, on-site technical assistance, repair, installation, training, logistics, life-cycle engineering and cybersecurity.
